1.Brief History
	In the age of the Japanese occupation, the president of the alumni association is the president of the school. The student graduated from the school will then attend to the alumni association as a member automatically and simultaneously. The faculty in the school will been a specific member of the association. In that age, the association was separated three department; general affair, academic affair, and athletic. Every department has a department head. The general affair department has no sub-group. The academic affair department has some sub-groups including sacred, journal, library, lecture, evaluation committee, hiking, and horticulture. The athletic department has some subgroups including swimming, joust, tennis, baseball, wrestle, kung fu, etc..

	After world war II, The activity of the alumni association had been stop until 1961 since the administration of the government transfer to China. In 1961, it reorganized by the first graduated grade alumni Mr. Jin-Shui Xiao of Kaohsiung state Pingtung agriculture school. The purpose of the reorganize was in order to enhance the agricultural academic research level, connect the alumni moral spirit, assistant the mother school development, and improve the local public construction. After several months struggle, the alumni association of Taiwan Province Pingtung vocational school was been reorganized and exhibit a large conference in the anniversary at May 25, 1961. In that conference, the constitution of the alumni association was made and confirmed, and Mr. Xiao been the first stage standing secretary. Then, the Pingnong journal had ever been published. The alumni employment tutorial center bring into existence for help the jobless alumni to looking for a work.

	The Japanese alumni organized the alumni sub-association after they went to Japan. They designated 「Rui-Sui sub-association」 according by the school government district of Rui-Sui Ding in that age. They still have some activity until now.

	In the age of the Taiwan Province Pingtung Agricultural Institute, there were so many sub-associations bring into exist in Taipei, Hualien, Taitung, Pingtung area, etc.. On the other hand, while Mr. Hsin-Cai Guo been the president of the alumni association in the age of National Pingtung Institute of Agriculture. In June 24, 1980, the 1^st stage 4^th conference manual, they made a name list for all the alumni from the Kaohsiung state Pingtung agriculture school age to the National Pingtung Institute of Agriculture age in detail. The name list is the most important history document for the alumni association until now.

	In Nov 29, 1991, the alumni association of National Pingtung Institute of Technology was established, and the alumni of Mr. Yu-Tin Wu been the president, professor Ching-Chen Hsieh been the standing secretary, and professor Zhao-Lin Duan been the general manager. In Feb 17, 1996, the「Syndicate Incorporation of Culture and Education Foundation of the Alumni Association of National Pingtung Institute of Technology」was allowed to establish from the Ministry of Education. The first stage president of the foundation was Mr. Yu-Tin Wu, and invited alumni Lee-Sen Lin been the general manager in Nov 17, 1996. The foundation change a new name to「Syndicate Incorporation of Culture and Education Foundation of the Alumni Association of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology」in Oct 13, 1997. In Jan 1, 2002, the alumni Mr. Bi-Xiang Wu been the 3^rd stage president of the alumni association and the foundation, alumni Xin-Xiong Hong been the standing secretary, professor Ching-Chen Hsieh been the general manager, and invited Mr. Yu-Tin Wu been the honor president of the association. In Jan 1, 2005, alumni Mr. Yi-Xiang Lin been this (4^th) stage president of the alumni association and the foundation, alumni Zhang-Yi Zheng been the standing secretary, and professor Ching-Chen Hsieh continue to be the general manager, and invited the former president Mr. Yu-Tin Wu and Bi-Xiang Wu been the honor president of the association until now.


2.The mainly current works of the alumni association
	In addition for connect the school and the alumni on the emotion aspect and general affair. The association is also assistant some activities in the mother school frequently. For example, it grant the scholarship for the student, recommend excellent alumni, funding campus marathon, conduct the alumni sociable, etc.. It obtain a great outcome on improving the emotion of the students on campus and encourage the spirit of the student for enhance the learning familiarity.

	The association offer many benefit for the alumni in equal opportunity while the alumni attend to the association. It is including:
		(1)	The alumni ID can go through the gate of campus for free.
		(2)	The alumni ID can have the discount on getting to the swimming pool, and living in the Pou-Lee forest park.
		(3)	The alumni ID can get a free right to lend the book from the library, etc.. The history of NPUST has been go through for 82 years and the number of the alumni is over 40,000 persons.


3.The future view of the alumni association
	On promoting the mainly current work of the association, the alumni association also plays a significant role by doing the bridge between the mother school and the alumni. We not only extend the service scope but also facilitate the mother school broaden the affair of the academic and research activities. The purpose of the association is wishing the mother school to achieve the first level university around world.

	In addition, the association will try to gather the power of the alumni to construct a multi-function alumni hall. It can let the alumni feel warmness in like go home when they come to the mother school. Also, extend the functional service scope to compact the reorganization of the alumni, to develop the affair and let them feedback the benefit to the mother school.
